The VRS LIGHTHOUSE PROGRAM A Beacon of Hope
When you or a loved one needs to navigate the murky waters of the healthcare system, where can you turn for help? How will you cope with a serious illness or disease if it happens to you or someone you love? What resources will you need? Where will you find them? The VRS Lighthouse Program is your beacon of hope, helping you stay optimistic, determined and strong. VRS Disability Management has been assisting injured Vermonters through the challenging and often overwhelming maze of diagnosing, evaluating and finalizing medical and vocational options since 1997. We believe people have the right to direct their own lives and make their own choices. We strive to create innovative solutions to the challenges faced by those affected by a significant or catastrophic injury or disease. We bring together diverse resources in order to maximize the opportunities available to individuals and the community. We will work with you to develop the most effective plan to help you regain your life with family, friends and the community. We are committed to providing comprehensive, accountable, and professional services to our clients and their families.
Our staff of medical and vocational professionals specializes in addressing the complex needs of individuals who have experienced disabilities involving cognition, behavior and physical functioning. We focus on maximizing our client's strengths and abilities, increasing the capacity of other organizations to serve our clients and their families more effectively, and empowering them to build the skills and confidence they need to lead fulfilling and productive lives. VRS Care Coordinators and Counselors are available to provide a collaborative process of individualized assessment, planning, facilitation and advocacy for options and services designed to meet our clients' individual needs. By determining the needs and strengths of our clients, as well as integrating their family and support system, we can assist them in developing and realizing their personal goals. Support teams with key individuals are coordinated, services and resources are identified, skills are developed and ongoing guidance and support are provided. Continuous monitoring and refinement of individual goals are essential to this process, leading to enhanced goal attainment.
